About

The department of obstetrics and gynecology at Diphu Medical College and Hospital was established in the year 2019 under the leadership of Prof ( Dr.) Alakananda Das. It is envisioned to make the department an apex centre of patient care, research and education in the state.

The department is committed to deliver quality and evidence based clinical services to all patients coming under its domain after establishment of fully functional department.

Facilities and services

“Promise of a better tomorrow” is the motto,we thrive. The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology caters to women of all age group. Its deals with the disease of female reproductive organs, family planning and care of women during pregnancy, child birth and post partum. The department offers OPD consultation services, facilities of labour room, indoor admission, minor and major surgical procedures, provision of family planning services and  ultrasonography.

Shortly the department would start undergraduate teaching and clinical postings for the first batch of MBBS students.

The department aspires to provide services of utmost quality to the whole region.

Faculties:

  • Dr Nabanita Deka is presently serving as an associate professor in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, DMCH and is also the Secretary of GOGS since 2018. She is associated with several academic activities like being the Master trainer of EMOC,PPIUCD, RKSK and NCD. She is also the treasurer of ISOPARB ASSAM chapter.She has also been a national speaker in AICOG and FOGSI conferences.
